The kids had their first day of school today. Nash is in 2nd Grade and Canyon started Kindergarten. They were both a little nervous and excited this morning, Nash even tried to fake a stomach ache and a sore throat, but it didn't last long. They were both too excited to put on their new backpacks. I find myself a little nervous as well. I have been driving by the school everyday and getting butterflies when I see it. I am not sure if I am nervous for my kids or just getting those feelings back from when I was a kid, probably both.
Coleman had to run and grab his backpack as well this morning and get in the pictures. He thinks he is such a big boy. I love that quirky kid. Hope your kids all had a good day as well.

They look so cute for their first day! My boys didn't want to wear anything "too cute" or even new. I bought them some new clothes, took off the tags and threw them in the drawer and then on the first day of school, I casually pulled them out and suggested that they wear it...it worked! boys. I remember thinking about what I was going to wear for days before the first day!

Thats funny you said that Melissa, my boys are the exact same way!! I just bribed them this year. I let them get Star Wars shirts the other day (which is rare because I do not like character clothing items), the only condition was that I got to pick what they wore on the first day of school. They are getting to be picky in what they wear. The pharse "this makes a cool skater shirt" isn't working anymore.
I can't believe Nash is in 2nd grade (that's the grade I taught). All your boys are so adorable!!
Laurie you're back! I have been wondering when you would post again. You sound like you've had a really busy summer. The pictures are awesome. We don't start school till the 3rd. Morgan is starting to get nervous too. I just try not to talk about it. I'm looking forward to a schedule too. luv ya
I'm going to assume the matching on the first day of school is so the pictures are more aesthetically pleasing...the kids look great! How nice to be down to one kid at home during the day...what will you do with your time?!

For some reason my comment didn't get posted. HAPPY BACK TO SCHOOL BOYS! Coleman's turn will come soon enough. How can we be so lucky to have the cutest, nicest and handsomest grandkids in the world. I love you guys.
Laurie, your boys are seriously so cute and handsome at the same time. I also get that nervous back to school feeling in the fall, even though I'm not going back to school, and no one in our family is either for the first time!
